The synoptic for process control is shown on the main page of the system.
The system allows the formulation and download of cleaning recipes, to give the customer maximum flexibility to be able to independently formulate better and more efficient recipes.
The diagnostic page shows the information relating to the structure of the system and the state of its components.
The system has a section dedicated to reporting, such as historical alarms, audit trails and washing reports.
The SCADA is installed on an HMI panel and not in a VM/physical PC, therefore also having to manage the touchscreen and on-screen keyboard to allow its use.
Most of the system functions have been developed in a customized way thanks to the use of the VBA programming language (iFIX), using VB.NET for the development of the recipe and reporting management software.
The customer requires:
CIP process control;
reporting management (washing reports, historical alarms, audit trail);
GE iFIX 5.8, for managing the logical and graphical interface (communication driver, variable database, HMI), between the field and the users;
GE IGS, for the management of communication between SCADA and PLC;
iFIX OPC DA Server, for exposing data to the customer's proprietary automation system;
SQL Server Express, for logging alarms and events through the iFIX Alarm ODBC;
Crystal Reports and VB.NET for management of reports and formulator for recipes.
The system consists of a Siemens S7-1200 PLC interfaced with the field and an HMI with iFIX, thanks to which users can control the Cleaning In Place process.
Thanks to the development of a customized recipe management software, authorized users can create, review and download washing recipes.
The graphic pages are made in such a way as to ensure simple and immediate navigability within the system.
User management is centralized on the SCADA and synchronized with the corporate domain, so that every update within the same is reported within the local iFIX security.
Each procedure on the system is automated thanks to the development of scripts in VBA, to give users the possibility to obtain what is required by executing simple and immediate procedures.
Even today, the system is subjected to periodic maintenance, in order to guarantee its correct functioning, and to continuously improve its functionality.
